- מֵישָׁן, מֵישוֹןpr. n. (v. מֵישָׁא I) Meshan, Mesene, the island formed by the Euphrates, the Tigris and the Royal Canal. Kil.49b תשעה נטלה מ׳ nine measures (of impudence) M. has carried off. Ib. 71b, a. e. מֵישוֹן מיתה M. is dead (for purity of descent), v. גּוֹסֵס. Yoma 10a (expl. רחבת עיר, Gen. 10:11) פרת דמ׳ Perath Meshan (v. Berl. Beitr. z. Geogr., p. 4 4). B.
